Reaction is a word that like many others in our language has different meanings, today I am interested in focusing on reaction as the way someone or something behaves in the face of a fact, in a situation, in the face of a stimulus.
We react, for example, when it starts to rain and we look for a place to cover ourselves, also if someone tells us something funny and makes us laugh, that behavior, laughter, is the reaction triggered by that funny comment.
Depending on what happens we will have one or another reaction, in the face of the rain we cover ourselves, in the face of a joke we react by laughing and in a tragic situation our reaction will be another.
Our character, the way we usually behave in Spain, makes our country a country of reactions, it is not usual for us to anticipate preparing a strategy to solve a looming problem until we have no choice but to do so.
At the moment we are experiencing one of those situations that confirms this very marked trait in our character and deeply rooted in the behavior of a large number of the people who make up this country.
We are the first in the ranking of infections throughout Europe and it is the same as we talk about the central government or the multiple autonomous governments because since our endless state of alarm ended, none of them have done what they should to prevent what is happening.
It seems that the only thing that occurs to political leaders, because whatever action they want to take is subject to the decisions made by these new tyrants who curiously appear to us as the guarantors of our security, is to react to the fait accompli.
And so we have seen that the actions of all these “characters” of the central and regional governments, who live at our expense, promulgating laws that we have to comply with but they do not because they enjoy privileged treatment, have been of no use, sorry, This is not true, because these measures have served to create the worst economic situation in which our country has found itself for over a hundred years.
Today we are experiencing the effects of not anticipating a situation that had already been announced previously, because what is happening in the health and economic sphere is not a surprise, it is the consequence of not having done anything.
If you want your life or your company to reach a situation similar to the one we live in today and we will have to continue living tomorrow –although I fear that in a much worse economic situation– in our country, wait as our politicians have done.
